Mondello cutters are the best carbides
available. Made of American C2
carbide blanks designed by Joe Mondello to save you porting time. Our angle,
relief, helix, spacing & tooth count patterns have taken years to develop.
We use a code to describe our carbide cutters.
The first symbols are usually acronyms of the shapes i.e. BST for barrel
shaped taper & RT for reverse teardrop.
If there is a dash between letters i.e. FM-SE that is a Fast Mill Cut
(most aggressive) on an egg/oval shaped cutter.
NN-SH means no teeth on nose (safe nose) on flame shape.
The number following the letters denotes cutter diameter size: 1=1/4;
2=5/16; 3=3/8; 4=7/16; 5=1/2; 6=5/8; 7=3/4.
The number after the first dash
(-) denotes length of shank i.e. 4=4 shank; 6=6; 8=8
etc. The number following second
dash denotes number of teeth on cutter; letters at end are RC= regular cut; DC=
double cut (criss-crossed cutting teeth).
NN-SF5-4-16-DC
is a safe nose (no teeth on nose) round nose tree shape 1/2 carbide
cutter with 16 teeth double cut (criss-cross design) on a 4 shank. (See
first box chart for code) Tooth count for aluminum or cast iron carbides is
Regular, Intermediate, Aggressive & Fast Mill (for aluminum) cuts. (See
second box chart). Combinations not listed are special order items. Call to place order & for sharpening details.
Check out our newest addition; the Flegg FL-Series a cross between the
